When researching sea island cotton, I knew that I needed to hear from the voices of the people working to develop, use and grow it. I was fortunate to hear from some of the people leading Caribbean fashion, sea island cotton preservation, environmental conservation and historians. 

Junior Sealy

Tom Austen

Biologist and wildlife conservationist by trade, Tom was part of an expert team who was able to re-cultivate sea island cotton from a collection of long-lost seeds. He shares a biologist's take on the plant and the toils of growing it.
