A chat with John Girault

John is the Executive Director of the Edisto Island Open Land Trust. He is working to steward conservation of land, history and heritage. His work has allowed him numerous opportunities to help set the record straight and preserve the memories of numerous historical figures who were entrepreneurs, family men and women, and leaders of their communities. When looking to understand the history of what sea island cotton meant to the Charleston area, and how the past influences the future, John was my first call.
