Communications Intern, Lockheed Martin
I was selected as the summer communications intern to work with the Mighty Marietta Comms Team at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Marietta, GA during the summer of 2022.
My Story
This summer, I moved to Marietta, Georgia to work with the Communications team in the AMMM line of business, meaning that I was working with large aircraft ranging from the C-5 Galaxy, P-3 Orion, and commercial airlines.
Just to name a few experiences:
-
Audited the F-35 Lightning II Communications program to recommend best practices for the AMMM line of business,
-
Led interviews, drafted stories, and supported efforts to compile photo and media for two InsideLM stories, one on aircraft sustainment, and the other on a new Crew Door engineering feature,
-
Compiled a communications plan for an anniversary event,
-
Updated and standardized 18+ executive biographies,
-
Networked and had numerous conversations with diverse individuals across the Aero teams to better understand what made their careers successful, and learn how I could better myself in the workplace environment
-
Practiced AP Style and fine-tune editing on a daily basis to improve my technical writing skills
-
Gained experience taking high level jargon and parsing it down to be communicable
-
Supported a digital signage campaign,
-
Collaborated on an "All-Intern" Communications plan to hire new engineering talent, including creating a communications plan, developing mock materials, and presenting it to executive leadership
-
Skills: AP Style · Networking · Writing · Interviewing · Project Management

My Projects in Action
I presented the capstone of my projects to my team. Since I had been working in so many business areas, I had several fun surprises for my coworkers to see the interesting projects that I was able to touch while interning last summer.
